Fun fact; I actually reverse the image as I drew him facing the right and forgot his right eye was scarred. Plus the image I needed for reference had his tattoos on his right side too, and I thought; "Ooooh nice!"

Another nice little accident I found was when changing the colour balance on the image, the smudge right where his firetail tuft was went a nice appropriate shade. So I thought I'd leave it.
